Luke 10:17
This evening John led a discussion about what it means to get ready for and sustain revival. A point that was repeated again and again is that we have to get God out of the box--that we cannot put limits on Him. If we truly value his presence and trust that we can prepare us for anything, but yet still hold back, how can we expect to be empowered by Him?
John shared a lot from Luke 10. He highlighted how the 70 were not sent out alone. We can trust that we will not be sent out alone. Jesus told those going out that he would go where they would be. We can trust that He WILL be with us when we go out. We carry His presence, and it won't leave us.
Susan shared a few occasions that she has had to pray for people while out and about. In each of the examples she shared, she did not go in with the expectation of doing ministry or serving another. Rather, she was open to the Lord and His presence, was willing to be made uncomfortable and be pushed out of her comfort zone, and was willing to follow the Lord's guidance.
The Lord's presence will never depart from us. He can, and will prepare us for anything, even that which far exceeds our wildest expectations. We just have to be hungry and willing.
